How to grow vegetable varieties
Locating your garden very well is an important part of vegetable gardening. It must be free from your home’s shadow throughout the day. Considering this fact, you cannot possibly put your garden too close to your house. At the same time, there should be a water source near to the garden, just enough distance for your convenience. You will water your plants daily. Do not make it a burdensome task.
Put your vegetable garden where sunlight is abundant. Your vegetables need 6-8 hours of sunlight every day. No amount of fertilizer, watering and other gardening enhancements will be able to substitute for good sunlight exposure.
The garden plot can be ideally raised from the ground level to protect it from excess water after a heavy rain and protect it from invading pests. Having your garden in ground level leaves it susceptible to insects and pests. Make sure that the area for your garden is not overly depressed that flooding can happen and drainage problems are likely. You do not want to soak your vegetables in water for long periods of time.
Preparing the soil is very important. You can use soil mixtures that can ensure healthy growth for your vegetables. It must also be free from too much stones and pebbles. The soil under the surface (top soil) should also be free from gravel as this would stunt the growth of your plants later.
To grow vegetable garden takes hard work and determination. It is important for you though to assess the right size for you. If your garden is too big for the time and effort you are willing to expend to it, then size is a liability, not an advantage as you originally once thought.
